The Story:
Patina is the character that develops on a surface over time, shaped by what it has experienced and what it has weathered.
For me, this reflects the human experience. We move through each day carrying different layers of emotion, thought and experience. Some are visible, others sit beneath the surface, constantly changing who we are and how we show up in the world.
Through layers of texture, colour and mark-making, this painting is an expression of those shifting layers and a reminder that, like the surfaces around us, we are never quite the same from one day to the next.
The Art Show is a fundraiser for Mount Eliza North Primary School. By making a purchase at the Art Show, you’re helping to fund important improvements to the school, such as IT equipment, playground upgrades and much more.
