Owls are a subject that I return to again and again – perhaps it is the beautiful moon face or the challenge of simplifying the multitude of patterns to a point where the viewers eye automatically fills in the detail. The rich colouring of Tawny Owls calls for deep earthy pigments which are immensely gratifying to use.
