Frances Cook

Etch Jewellery Design

Frances has been involved in art and design throughout her career starting out as a media/fine art graduate and travelling to London to work in production, design and media. 8 years later she made it home to Melbourne where she continued working in production, media and marketing. It has taken a long time to get back to her roots and indulge in her passion for design.

Now working from a studio at her Main Ridge property Frances is creating contemporary silver jewellery, using many techniques learnt from her printmaking phase including acid etching and rolling to create impressions and patterns. She uses layering and repetition of shape in her work blending texture with form.

I have been involved in art and design throughout my career starting out as a media/fine art graduate and travelling to London to work in production, design and media.  Eight years later I made it home to Melbourne where I continued working in production, media and marketing.  It has taken a long time to get back to my roots and indulge my passion for design.

I am working from my studio in Main Ridge and I absolutely love creating contemporary silver jewellery, using many techniques learnt from my printmaking phase including acid etching and rolling to create impressions, texture and patterns.  I use layering and repetition of shape in my work blending texture with form.
